Leslie Still Deciding
High school basketball star C.J. Leslie enjoyed his trip to Kentucky this past weekend to watch the Cats defeat Vanderbilt. That shouldn't be taken the wrong way, however, because after his visit, he is still "nowhere remotely close" to making a decision. Erasto Hatchett, C.J. Leslie's coach at Word of God said this is not evidence of Leslie possibably coming to Kentucky.
A winter storm canceled all classes at Word of God, so Leslie made the trip to Lexington to see the Cats play Vanderilt on Saturday.
"He had a good time at the ballgame," Hatchett said. "He still is friends with John Wall, and he also just wanted to come see him play."
Leslie, a 6-foot-7, 205-pound forward, averages 21.5 points per game for the Holy Rams. His coach also stated that he averages 11 rebounds and six blocks per game.
The coach said that he (Leslie) will make more visits to other schools, where and when is unknown. The coach also listed schools that still have a chance at landing Leslie. Those teams are, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Maryland, North Carolina State, UCLA, Florida, Florida International, Georgetown and Oregon.
Leslie is considered by Rivals.com to be the #14 pick in the class of 2010. His coach thinks he should be higher.
"I won't say he's the best player in the country, but I think he has the most upside of any player in the country," he said.
